Sustainable water management

Water is gaining more and more in significance on a global scale For this reason the United Nations proclaimed the year 2003 the International Year of Freshwater. The objective of the international year was ensuring a sustainable water management and protecting the drinking water resources. Sustainable processes going far beyond the year 2003 should be launched all over the world.  The awareness for the sustainable use of this resource and irreplaceable foodstuff has to be raised on an international scale, but also in Austria.  But this must not end with the Year of the Water, but must become lived reality.
